I loved Pride and Prejudice, and Rebecca was fantastic. I guess I wouldn't have either Harry Potter or Suzanne Collins on my list, but have Fountainhead and Catcher in the Rye instead. I wonder what the rest of my list would look like.....anothercookiecrumbleshttp://www.anothercookiecrumbles.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543330341390707771.post-31144579042155243522011-10-19T14:55:44.060-04:002011-10-19T14:55:44.060-04:00I love your list! I've read the first LOTR so I can't say a lot on that front yet. Maybe I'll choose that one after the last two. Harry Potter, check. Hunger Games, check. Jane Eyre... I wish! This is something I just know I'm going to love. I'm not even worried that I won't!

Great post!Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15530490398283237371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543330341390707771.post-7428920236130626972011-10-12T10:48:21.444-04:002011-10-12T10:48:21.444-04:00For sure Rebecca, which I have read numerous times...For sure Rebecca, which I have read numerous times. Now you have all of the clues, so you can begin to solve the puzzles. Same for Moby-Dick.

Not the same experience the second time, but there should still be plenty of awe and mystery.Amateur Reader (Tom)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13675275555757408496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543330341390707771.post-22854284564970463112011-10-11T20:54:10.676-04:002011-10-11T20:54:10.676-04:00Ooh, I like your choices. I've thought many times that I wish I could read it the way I first did, without knowing what was going to happen, how it would all turn out, but mostly I wish I could recreate the magic that I felt when I read it. Ditto for my first read (only so far!) of Jane Eyre--I'm actually afraid to reread it for fear it won't be as good as it was the first time.

The Harry Potter book I feel that way about most is actually the first one--that first introduction to the magical world, without any idea where it would take me, that it would turn so dark. In some ways so innocent. (I wouldn't, however, wish to revisit the semester of college in which I read this book--not a good one! This was definitely the highlight!)

Those are the only books I can think of that I really would like to go back to 'for the first time.'Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
