After reading your blog, I feel that I somehow missed out on what my early expectations would have been when I now see a play today. How sad. I really enjoy having read a book, then seeing a play or movie, to see how it is interpreted. It's always amazing to me to see what I see and what a director sees. You're right, there are always certain characters and/or lines that stay with you and become your favorites over time.
