He wrote in Hindi - one of the Indian languages and so you would have to find a suitable translation. Bear in mind that these are novels based in India and you would have to put in much more effort to understand the context and the nuances. I guess it would be like when I read Chinua Achebe - I had to have wikipedia close at hand to understand the various African historical subtexts etc. in the plotRavihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01148607179880690642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543330341390707771.post-34100317560915280582014-04-20T08:54:08.512-04:002014-04-20T08:54:08.512-04:00I could recommend some books from the Indian sub-c...I could recommend some books from the Indian sub-continent if you want. It's strange; while I completely agree that many, many great writers have been overlooked due to a dead-white-guy bias, it's also completely true that those dead-white-guys wrote some pretty amazing pieces of literature. Almost all of my non-Western reading experience comes from Ancient and Medieval times; The Ramayana (Hindu), Sundjata (African), etc. Great stuff by the way!Trishahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13917705393662132891noreply@blogger.com
