I'll have to find this collection by Wharton. Sounds like fun, and that cat wow how funny! although, probably wasn't at the time, huh....Rebecca Reidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06062252252301802298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543330341390707771.post-43460151000967840222011-11-06T12:04:03.889-05:002011-11-06T12:04:03.889-05:00I really like Wharton's stories, this is a goo...I really like Wharton's stories, this is a good collection. I don't remember being particularly scared by any of them. I remember Kerfol being a favorite, and Afterward was pretty good too.

I haven't read any Wharton in awhile and I'm starting to miss her -- she's one of my favorites too. I would have turned on every light in the house and watched cartoons for an hour.
I'm not a big fan of ghost stories- I'm the kind of person who gets scared easily- but if they're more creepy than scary then they might be worth a shot.
Anyway, have better dreams!Carohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12456284399025708010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543330341390707771.post-54321577622572185582011-10-31T21:35:25.618-04:002011-10-31T21:35:25.618-04:00I've never read anything by this author before...I've never read anything by this author before, but I do have The House of Mirth that I picked up at a library sale waiting on the shelf to be read. Think I'll keep an eye out for these ghost stories. Although, those eyes do sound terribly creepy! And of course, waking up to "eyes" after reading a story like that--yeah, that would frighten me, too!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543330341390707771.post-69322619649645477472011-10-31T18:08:37.117-04:002011-10-31T18:08:37.117-04:00I forget who all was involved but there was a disc...I forget who all was involved but there was a discussion a couple of years back about The Lady's Maid's Bell. There was much confusion in the group! I'll have to look for The Eyes (sorry, I couldn't think of any other way to say that!). I wonder if it's in any of my anthologies. I'll lock the cats up though. ;)Kristen M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02335598194501733541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543330341390707771.post-48523993219724500092011-10-31T11:55:53.654-04:002011-10-31T11:55:53.654-04:00Giant eyes watching you sleep?!
